  • Cartoon Network - Launched October 1, 1992 by Betty Cohen. Owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Animated television series for children aged 6-12, runs 6am-5pm ET/PT daily, evening Adult Swim block.
  • The CW - American broadcast television network. Features entertainment programming including dramas, reality shows, and sports content.
  • Cozi TV - Classic television network owned by NBCUniversal. Features reruns of classic TV shows including The King of Queens, Frasier, The Munsters, and Columbo.
  • Comet TV - Science fiction and supernatural programming network. Features classic and contemporary sci-fi films and series.

Premium Movie Channels

  • Cinemax - Premium network launched August 1, 1980. Owned by Warner Bros. Discovery through HBO, Inc. Originally "maxi-pay" service complementing HBO, features theatrical films, original series, and documentaries.

Sports Channels

  • CBS Sports Network - Launched 2002 as National College Sports Network (CSTV). Owned by CBS Entertainment Group/Paramount. 24-hour cable sports channel featuring college football/basketball, UEFA soccer, Serie A, NWSL, and original programming.

Music Channels

  • CMT - Country Music Television, launched March 5, 1983 by Glenn D. Daniels. Owned by Paramount Global through MTV Entertainment Group. First video: Faron Young's "It's Four in the Morning." Country music videos, concerts, reality shows, and acquired sitcoms.
  • CMT Music - Originally launched August 1, 1998 as VH1 Country. Rebranded as CMT Pure Country in 2006. Paramount Global property dedicated to country music videos and programming.

Public Affairs & Government Channels

  • C-SPAN - Cable-Satellite Public Affairs Network, created 1979. Private, nonprofit organization funded by cable/satellite affiliates. Live gavel-to-gavel coverage of U.S. House of Representatives floor proceedings.
  • C-SPAN2 - Launched 1986 for live uninterrupted coverage of United States Senate. On Saturdays becomes American History TV, on Sundays becomes Book TV.
  • C-SPAN3 - Began airing 2001. Covers additional live political events, congressional hearings, press briefings, speeches, and archived historical programming. Features American History TV all-weekend programming block.
  • California Channel - State government and public affairs channel providing coverage of California legislature and state issues.

True Crime & Legal Channels

  • Court TV - Legal and crime programming network. Revived by E.W. Scripps Company in May 2019 with 24/7 live trial gavel-to-gavel coverage. Studios in Atlanta.
  • Crime & Investigation - Owned by A&E Networks (joint venture with Sky Group). True crime programming featuring documentaries, police procedurals, and investigative series.

Food & Lifestyle Channels

  • Cooking Channel - Launched May 31, 2010. Spin-off of Food Network owned by Warner Bros. Discovery (69%) and Nexstar Media Group (31%). Instructional cooking shows and culinary programming.

Documentary & Educational Channels

  • Curiosity Stream - Documentary streaming service launched 2015 by Discovery Channel founder John S. Hendricks. Science, nature, history, technology, and educational programming. Over 20 million subscribers worldwide. Available in HD and 4K.
  • Create TV - PBS digital subchannel network launched 2006. Produced by APT, WNET Group, and GBH Boston. 24-hour DIY and lifestyle programming including home improvement, cooking, travel, arts, crafts, and gardening. Reaches 84% of US TV households.

Religious & Faith-Based Channels

  • EWTN - Eternal Word Television Network, founded August 15, 1981 by Mother Angelica. Largest religious media network in world with 11 global TV channels broadcasting to 435+ million households in 160+ countries. Catholic programming including Daily Mass, documentaries, and teachings.
  • CatholicTV Network - "America's Catholic Television Network" sharing the Gospel and Catholic Tradition. Available on cable, satellite, Roku, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, Apple TV. Features Daily Mass on-demand.

Arts & Culture Channels

  • Classic Arts Showcase - Non-commercial 24-hour channel launched 1994, inspired by Lloyd E. Rigler. Features classic performing arts including opera, ballet, orchestral, chamber music, theatre, animation, and museum art. Self-described as "Classical MTV," 100% free with no commercials.
  • Ovation TV - Founded 1996, headquartered in Los Angeles. Majority owned by Hubbard Broadcasting. Dedicated to performing arts, fine arts, and contemporary culture. Features original productions, international series, and documentaries showcasing music, dance, theater, and visual arts.

  • Magnolia Network - Formerly DIY Network (1999-2022). Relaunched January 5, 2022. Joint venture between Warner Bros. Discovery and Chip/Joanna Gaines. Home construction, renovation, cuisine, and lifestyle programming including Fixer Upper series, Magnolia Table, Barnwood Builders, and Maine Cabin Masters.

International & Specialty Channels

  • Canal+ (Canal Plus) - French premium television channel. International programming available in various countries.
  • Chinese Television Network (CTN) - Programming serving Chinese-American audiences.
  • CRN Networks - Specialty television network programming.

Historic & Defunct Channels

  • Cloo - Formerly Sleuth (2006-2011). Crime and mystery genre programming owned by NBCUniversal. Rebranded as Cloo in 2011 for trademark purposes. Closed February 1, 2017.
  • Chiller - NBCUniversal horror-themed channel launched March 1, 2007. Ceased operations in 2017.
  • TruTV - Originally launched December 14, 1990 as Court TV. Rebranded as TruTV in 2008 by Warner Bros. Discovery. Shifted from crime coverage to comedy docusoaps and live sports. Court TV name later revived separately by E.W. Scripps in 2019.
  • Esquire Network - Originally Style Network (1998). Relaunched as Esquire Network September 23, 2013. 50/50 joint venture between NBCUniversal and Hearst Corporation. Closed June 28, 2017 due to low ratings.
