About us

OfficialUSA.com was founded in 1998. This is one of the oldest and most reputable sites on the Internet.

Initially, OfficialUSA.com was a simple directory. At that time, search engines were not as advanced and powerful as they are now. Users browsed web directories or catalogues to find information they needed. One of the largest and most famous directories was Yahoo. OfficialUSA.com was similar to Yahoo, but from the very beginning we've decided to focus on one subject — we collect and publish links only to state and official websites. We helped users find official resources, and we connected ordinary citizens with governmental agencies.

Over time, our catalogue grew. We have added state, city, and county guides. Then our site was supplemented with links to official websites of airports, schools, universities, hotels, etc.

Our team of editors makes sure that links are accurate, valid, not broken, and point to the official sites.

We are maintaining, curating and developing one of the largest directories of links to government websites on the Internet. Our work has been featured in mass media and in books (such as Place-Based Science Teaching and Learning: 40 Activities for K-8 Classrooms by Cory A. Buxton, Eugene F. Provenzo, Jr., and The “People Power” Education Superbook: Book 22 by Tony Kelbrat).
