The Center has embraced the diversity
of the borough of Queens in its dual mission of education and remembrance.
The current exhibit, The Nanjing Massacre: Genocide and Denial, presents
a chilling examination of the horrific events in Nanjing, China, in 1937
when Japanese troops invaded the then capital city, slaughtering hundreds
of thousands of innocent people.
Queensborough's
Permanent Collection of African art includes masks, figures, household
and ritual objects, body décor, ceremonial costumes, and textiles
from the Western Sudan, the West Atlantic Coast to Central Africa, and
