US Bureau of Labor Statistics Claims:
Unemployment Rate of
: 9.5% in Jun 2010 or 14.6 million jobless people.

Sadly.. those unemployment numbers are not even close to the truth. The government has changed the method they use to determine the unemployment rate. Example.... If you have collected unemployment but your unemployment benefits have run out and you still do not have a job, you are no longer counted as unemployed.
They unemployment figures do not even take into account the "underemployed" Supppose you need 45 hours to make enough to pay your bills but due to cutbacks you are only working 30 hours. According to the Labor Statistics, you are still employed full time.

The True Unemployment rate is the "U6 count" 16% unemployment rate is realistic
